MARCH 14-16, 2008

Call-Out The 2008 Spring Fellowship got off to a great start with the campfire Friday Night. Due to some issues with the weather it was decided that the campfire would be held under the Pavilion. As they always do, the Chapters put on a wonderful display of their talents as they amused the crowd with their skits.

At the end of the campfire a Call-Out was conducted, which begins the process of inducting new members into the Order, and a little over 40 Scouts and Scouters alike were called to become candidates. These new candidates will have their first opportunity to go through their Ordeal the weekend of May 16th. After the successful campfire program, Muscogee Lodge's wonderful cook team provided an excellent feast with the first, of two, cracker-barrels. As always the food was delicious!

Campers had a great night's sleep Friday evening, only to wake up to a fun-filled and action-packed Saturday! After Breakfast the chapters split up to do some very well needed service projects throughout Camp Barstow to help our Camp Ranger, Dave Bauer, start getting the camp ready for another Summer Camp season.

Frank the Fox

Although the projects were brief in most respects, the work made great impact in Ranger Dave's to-do list. After concluding the service projects, members of the lodge then had the opportunity to participate in some high quality training sessions before they ate yet another delicious meal from our World Famous Cook Team! The breath taking meal behind them, they start off the afternoon getting ready for Dixie, with various Quest events to make final plans and arrangements as to whom would be undertaking which event. However, the afternoon's events would be interrupted.

Hammock From 5:00pm until close to 7:00pm everyone in attendance was kept in the Dining Hall due to some very close storms and tornados in the area, and despite loosing power three times in those two hours our wonderful Cook Team managed to pull off yet another perfect meal.
Business Meeting After the all clear was given, things kicked back into High gear, with a few more training sessions, and of course the Brotherhood Ceremony. Eight Ordeal members sealed their membership by completing their Brotherhood Challenge, which
Vigil the ceremony was followed with the traditional Muscogee Lodge Patch Auction. There were some great items up for bid, and remember any t-shirt is YOUR SIZE! Overall, the Patch Auction did farely well with a total of $1,386 taken in, only in 2.5 hours.
Sunday morning roled around, and as always the Dining Hall must be cleaned! Following the completion of cleaning the Dining Hall, the Chapel and Awards Service got under way in the Camp Barstow Chapel. After an inspiring and thought provoking sermon from Vice Chief of Communications, William McCormick, it was time to announce the awards. Surprising to say, Sukeu Sipo, did NOT win the attendance or spirit award, in fact niether Tschitaneu Aptonagan nor Sukeu Sipo left the Spring Fellowship with any awards! Patches, Patches, whose got the Tomahawk Throw
Patches; yes, we sold out yet again of the Spring Fellowship Patches at our traditional selling of the extra patches. Overall, the 2008 Spring Fellowship was successful, with 107 members in attendance, and a weekend full of fun and excitement, despite what the weather tried to throw at us, and we look forward to increasing our next Fellowship's attendance at the 2008 Summer Fellowship.

Don't forget that 2008 Dixie Fellowship is right around the corner, April 25-27, 2008 followed by our Spring Ordeal May 16-18, 2008 and after our Summer Camp Season another Ordeal and the Summer Fellowship, check back for more information about each of the upcoming events!
