2008 Camp Barstow High Adventure Programs

Are you an older Scout between the ages of 14 and 20? Are you tired of going to Summer Camp and having to deal with all of the obnoxious new Scouts? Are you looking for something different and thrilling to do this summer? If you answered YES to any or all of these questions, then the High Adventure Program at Camp Barstow is for you! This year Camp Barstow will be host to 2 count them 2 unique High Adventure Programs! The first being the Island War Canoe Trek, and the second being the new Lake Murray Sailing Adventure! Boy Scout Resident Camp Information

Are you a Scout with nothing to do this summer, and want to have some fun!? Then, sign up today for the 2008 Camp Barstow Summer Camp Program. Currently there are openings during the 3^rd week of Boy Scout Resident Camp July 7^th thru July 12^th and we would love to have you join us for this exciting opportunity! Don't have a Troop that wants to attend Summer Camp, but you want to still come? Then we have the solution for that as well, sign up to be a Provisional Camper during the 3^rd week of Boy Scout Resident Camp. 2008 Camp Barstow Staff Information

Are you a Scout with nothing to do this summer!? If so, then please contact George Faller or Tom McGrath about working at Summer Camp in 2008! The dates of employment would be April 18^th thru April 20^th and from June 7^th thru July 13^th. Positions in most departments are still open, and we NEED a few good Scouts or Scouters to help fill those positions! 2008 Dixie Workday

Are you going to Dixie? If NOT, there is still time to sign up at the Council Service Center. If you ARE going to then you need to know that there will be a Dixie Prep Day out at Camp Barstow on Saturday April 12th, at the Shotgun Range, this day will be used to plan and practice some of the Quest Events, as well as finalize all plans before leaving to go to Dixie. Camp Barstow Improvements

Have you been to Camp Barstow lately? If not, you might not recognize it due to some ongoing improvements. Since last June things have changed, including some major improvements of the Shooting Sports Areas, and the beginnings of a COPE Course. Other such improvements have been some trail work, a staff shelter, re-mulching of some landscape, and various other improvements. Things continue to change around Camp and Ranger Dave welcomes any help that he can get to help upkeep roads, mowing, building maintenance, and other general maintenance issues around camp.
